Barrister's Ball

I just had the most fabulous weekend!

I finished my trial brief (FINALLY) on thursday....it was very nice to get that out of the way. Legal writing assignments are like very large and ugly clouds hanging over my head! It wasn't due until today (monday) but DANIEL was coming in on Thursday for Barrister's Ball (Once a year "ball" for law students and their dates), so I wanted to be able to hang out with him instead of work on homework!

On thursday night, we hung out and went to sleep....Daniel was exhausted from driving so much, and I had class early on Friday. I skipped Contracts on Friday, because 1. I hate contracts 2. Daniel was in town 3. I hate contracts. 4. I never skip class. Friday after my Property Class, Daniel and I grabbed some lunch and went shopping for a toolbox for his new truck. We drove all over OKC and I got to see a lot that I had never seen before! He found the style he wanted, but it wasn't in stock....(Fast forward to Monday-Daniel ordered one online )

Friday night was the Barrister's Ball. We had some friends over for drinks and snacks before we headed to the event. It was so fun and a great way for all of us crazed law students to relax with our friends! Above are just some pics from the night...All the girls are in law school with me, and we are all from TEXAS with the exception of Jennie. She and her husband are from Kansas but she is Texas by proxy these next couple of years :)

Saturday, we got what has become a tradition for us on Valentines, couples massage! (granted, it was a week late, but we have learned to re-arrange our schedules around our distance) Daniel seemed to like it last year, so I booked them again. Daniel had a very relaxing neck and back massage. I found out that law school has basically made my body one huge knot...so my lady spent most of the time trying to work out the various knots I had. Today I am sore-but I think it's something I should do more often!

Saturday night we met some friends for dinner, and had a great time. After that, we went to a indoor racetrack where you drive these "go-kart" things. I hesitate to call them that because they were FAST. We had a blast and of course Daniel lapped me....twice.

Sunday, we made breakfast and then spent all day at the movies. We saw "No Strings Attached", which we really liked, and "Unknown" which was really good also...After that, we made dinner, watched T.V, and fell asleep early.

This morning we made breakfast, I dropped off my trial brief, and we hung out with our pups and had lunch. Daniel left around noon and I had class until five!

What a weekend! I am exhausted already and it's only Monday-but it was great to spend some time together, with friends, and NOT thinking about law school.
