I can't believe Spring Break is already half way over! I started out Thursday night with a long drive to College Station! I was so happy to see Daniel and spend the evening with him :) The next day after he got off of work, we headed to Houston to see my mom's new house and help her get her office settled in, as well as a few repairs that we needed Daniel to help with! Friday night, we went to the Houston Rodeo to see Lady A! They are my favorite country band and they were really great in concert.
We had a great relaxing weekend with my mom and headed back to College Station on Sunday to get ready for the week. That night, we saw "The Adjustment Bureau" with Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. I highly recommend this movie! It's good for the boys because of the "action" and good for the girls because of the "love story". Daniel headed off to work the following morning and I ran some errands and prepped for my interview with a law firm in College Station.
I worked at this law firm all throughout college, and had applied and gotten an interview over christmas for a summer clerkship. This is a really big deal for a lowly 1L such as myself. Generally, it is hard to find a legal job where I will ACTUALLY be doing legal work. The interview went really well and it looks like I have the job! I will be writing and filing summary judgments, drafting pleadings and answers, sitting in on depositions, and going to court. (this is all fancy ways to say I will be seeing how it's done) I am really excited and a HUGE plus is that the job is in my BELOVED TEXAS, in my BELOVED College Station, with my BELOVED boyfriend Daniel and my mommy :)haha. Summer sounds good to me! I'll be working hard, getting good experience, and spending quality time close to the people I love. Seems like forever ago I took advantage of these very things. NEVER again.
On Monday, we had our anniversary dinner at my favorite restaurant, Cafe Eccell. Daniel got BBQ chicken, and I got a rosemary garlic pasta that was out of this world. We shared a strawberry tart (their famous desert), and headed home to watch the Bachelor. It was a nice evening. We spent most of it talking about how different everything was six years later. It was a really fun night.
Last night, we went to see "Battle Los Angeles" We were both in the mood for a ''shoot em up" movie, and this one didn't disappoint. The best way I could describe it would be a cross between a Sci/Fi/Battle Scene/Action movie. It was surprisingly entertaining, but very long!
Right now, I am back in Houston with my mom. Today I went to work with her for a while to work on my brief and some outlines (YUCK). At her office we hung some pictures, diplomas, and certificates, and then when it was time to go we explored some of Houston, got some dinner, and shopped around until we got tired.
We spent a relaxing evening together watching American Idol and playing with the pups.
I left my camera at Daniel's apartment and we have pictures from our six year anniversary so I will post those when go back to College Station early Sat. Morning!
For now, here is a very happy Daniel enjoying his favorite Rodeo food-Funnel Cake!
