FAV. Quote...Day 5

The favorite quote is easy.

Last summer, when I was in Europe, we stayed in a hostel called Aston Mansion. To be honest, it was not my favorite place to stay. It was yucky and dirty and really uncomfortable. One morning, when I was showering on their makeshift rooftop shower. I noticed that the entire hostel with covered in quotes. There were post-it's, posters, and even writing on the wall. This was right above the little sink:

Ah! Realize your youth while you have it. Don't squander the gold of your days, listening to the tedious, trying to improve the hopeless failure, or giving away your life to the ignorant, the common, and the vulgar. These are the sickly aims, the false ideals, of our age. Live! Live the wonderful life that is in you! Let nothing be lost upon you. Be always searching for new sensations. Be afraid of nothing... -Oscar Wilde 1890

This quote makes me really happy. It really spoke to me at the time and still does. Sometimes, when I feel like I am getting too serious (especially lately with law school), I re-read this and remember to LIVE, take chances, risk, and not waste my time trying to improve things that I can't. This is hard for me, but I really think this is the best quote of all time.
