The hostel we stayed in last night was by very definition of the word, ROUGH. Now, I am all about getting dirty to travel and experience things, as long as I have a place to lay down and someplace to get clean. I had a place to lay down, but apparently a large man had slept in it the night before, and there was hair all over it. The shower itself was pretty nasty too. Thank goodness for Lysol and flip flops.
Anyway, we left the hostel around 10am and took a taxi to our hotel, dropped off our luggage in the luggage closet, and then went to explore the Hyde Park-Oxford Street area. Elise and I have a small room but at least it's clean, and Alex is right next door!
London is beautiful, and I already love this city. Today, the rest of the Aggies arrive and we are meeting them around 4:15 (its about 3 now) We are very excited to officially start our tour and get to know some new people. After our orientation, we have a dinner of Fish and Chips, as well as a pub crawl with our tour guide Herbie. Tomorrow we do Westmister Abby, Big Ben, and tbe Tower of London. I cant wait!
Daniel's roomate from freshman year, Mark Bicknell, is supposed to be meeting me here in London tomorrow night. I believe he grew up and lives about an hour outside London. I haven't seen him since freshman year when Daniel had his accident, so I am really looking forward to seeing him again!
Hopefully tomorrow I will have more to write about!
