Wine on Wednesday

"To succeed in this industry, you must know your wine, your law, and your news"-a professor on my first day of law school orientation.

I'm working on the knowing your law part, and I make it a priority of mine to know what is going on with our country and the world I live in...and-

I love wine, and this was before law school. And no-not in the I want to get drunk way. I love wine in the "it reminds me of traveling-helps me wind down after a tough day-and is yummy with food I make way"

I started to love wine in Europe when I was in Germany studying abroad. To Europeans, wine is normal with every meal. It was there that I learned to pair it with food and really enjoy it and want to learn about how it was made and its history. With that being said, I have spend the last three years or so experimenting with different kinds and figuring out my favorite kinds...

ENTER--> Law school in Oklahoma <--Zero wine selection. I don't have time to drink or enjoy wine in Oklahoma anyway. I am too tired when I get home from the library and Oklahoma's strange alcohol laws prevent me from buying it at my leisure. With that being said, I found a wine I can bring back from Texas (no wine in grocery stores in OK) that will keep, and is actually a good quality!

This is my favorite "cheap wine". At about 10 dollars a cube (equivalent of 2 bottles) you can get an inexpensive wine, bottled in Napa, from my favorite place-TARGET! This isn't your "college" boxed version. This stuff is not Franzia! This target brand is a medium quality blend that I really enjoy on a budget. There are different kinds, ranging from chardonnay all the way to a dark cabernet. Pictured above is a "Shiraz" blend, which is a little lighter than a dark red and darker than a full bodied white. (if you are unsure of whether you will like wine, I recommend you start with a white! they are fruity and go well with any food)

I had to buy one wine glass at Target because Daniel has no wine glasses of course!

While we are on the topic of food and wine, here is a picture of the meal I cooked tonight for us. Pork tenderloin that I seared and then put in the oven, roasted brussell sprouts and broccoli, and roasted corn. Luckily for a certain guy in my life-I like to cook :)
