Greece

Move over Germany, Greece is now my favorite country in Europe thus far.

This morning, we woke up on our cruise, waited around a couple of hours for it to dock, and then boarded yet another bus for a four hour trip into Greece on the way to a tiny island of Poros where we will be staying for the next three days.

After about two hours, we stopped at a gas station that our tour guide said had the best slouvaki...he was right. Slouvaki is a Greek version of pork with some seasonings on a stick. It was a great lunch. Soon though, it was over and we were back on the road.

After about an hour, the scenery became beautiful and we got a great view of the Cobalt blue water. I got a little queasy because of all the twists and turns on the road. Added to this, the bus overheated and we had to stop for about ten minutes. After this happened, we only had about thirty minutes until we had to board a luggage boat to cross the channel to our hotel.

Once we got to our hotel, we discovered we had FREE WI-FI!!! WHOOP. I immediately called Daniel, my mom, and my dad, and told them the good news :) After check in, we all ran down to the beach, which is right behind the hotel. The water is clear, dark blue, and gorgeous. I only stayed in for about thirty minutes because then it was time for dinner.

To make a long story short, the hotel we are staying in (which is think is SO NICE), was not our original hotel. Because our group was too large, we had to book at this one instead of our original one, which is about 300 meters down a steep hill. Because of this issue, we still have dinner every night at 8:00pm at the original hotel, have the pool rights, and tonight, they were showing the U.S v. England game on a big screen for us. I am back in the hotel we are staying in because I intend to spend a full day on the beach and want to wake up early to get out there.

The way I feel about Greece is the way I feel about anyplace with water. I think I am partial to water because I grew up so close to a beach, but I honestly get a feeling of peace and happiness when I am close to it. Not to mention, everything here is beautiful, so that makes it easier. Im going to finally upload some pictures.

Beautiful Amazing Greece

Love,

Kate
